Data Scientist

Upper Jets is seeking a Data Scientist to support analytical, forecasting, and operational decision-making across air transportation and private jet chartering services. This role applies advanced and established data science methodologies to transform complex business and operational data into actionable insights that support management, sales, and strategic planning.

Job Duties

Apply advanced data science techniques and established analytical methodologies to collect, process, clean, and analyse business and operational data from multiple internal and external sources, including customer insights, sales reports, operational systems, and airport-related data.

Develop objective, traceable, and unbiased analytical models, forecasts, predictions, and estimations related to air transportation operations and private jet chartering services.

Support sales and commercial operations by researching, designing, and implementing internal tools, forms, and analytical procedures to improve booking efficiency and enhance marketing strategies.

Identify business challenges and management objectives that can be addressed through data analysis; formulate structured analytical questions; and deliver data-driven solutions to support decision-making related to budgeting, staffing, marketing, and operational planning.

Create clear and concise data visualisations and analytical reports using appropriate visualisation tools to effectively communicate technical and non-technical insights to management and other stakeholders.

Requirements

Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a closely related field, with a minimum GPA of 3.5.

No prior professional work experience required.

Knowledge of machine learning, deep learning, data preparation, data visualisation, and business intelligence concepts and tools, including but not limited to:

IBM SPSS Statistics; MATLAB; Microsoft Power BI; Tableau; NoSQL databases; NumPy; Pandas; PySpark; PyTorch; Structured Query Language (SQL); C; Python; R; SciPy; PostgreSQL; Scikit-learn; Linux operating systems; Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); OpenAI ChatGPT; XGBoost; and Jupyter Notebook environments.

Completed academic coursework in aeronautical engineering disciplines, including aircraft design, jet propulsion systems, and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) safety regulations.
